Rhizopus Stolonifer, or more commonly known as bread mold, plays an important role in the carbon cycle
What is the carbon cycle?
The carbon cycle is the cycle by which carbon moves through the Earth between organisms and the environment. It includes the food chain, photosynthesis, cellular respiration, decomposition, and the burning of fossil fuels. Bread mold is plays a role in the decomposition part of the cycle.
What is the niche of bread mold?
Bread mold has a job in the decomposition part of the carbon cycle. Bread molds breaks down and decomposes the substrate. As the substrate is broken down, carbon dioxide is released.
